What does an initial chiropractic consultation entail?

An initial chiropractic consultation takes about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the case presented. The non-treatment part of the initial chiropractic consultation entails:

  • Relevant case history taking
  • Relevant clinical, neurological and orthopaedic assessments and evaluations
  • Relevant postural and chiropractic specific spinal and joint manipulation assessments and evaluations
  • X-ray and diagnostic ultrasound referral if required
  • Referral to the relevant specialist if required
  • Letter of indisposition (sick note) if applicable and required
  • The treatment of the initial chiropractic consultation entails: Chiropractic specific spinal and extremity joint manipulation and mobilization therapy
  • Spinal traction therapy (bullet) Musculoskeletal and sport injury rehabilitation
  • Dry needling and electro dry needling
  • Device percussion muscle, massage and myofascial release therapy
What does the follow-up chiropractic consultations entail?

The follow-up chiropractic consultation takes about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the case presented. The non-treatment part of the follow-up chiropractic consultations entails: Relevant continual subjective and objective case note taking and monitoring of progress

  • Relevant continual re-assessments and re-evaluations if necessary
  • X-ray and diagnostic ultrasound referral if required
  • Referral to the relevant specialist if required
  • Letter of indisposition (sick note) if applicable and required
  • The treatment of the initial chiropractic consultation entails:
  • Chiropractic specific spinal and extremity joint manipulation and mobilization therapy
  • Spinal traction therapy (bullet) Musculoskeletal and sport injury rehabilitation
  • Dry needling and electro dry needling

Fees ater 6 months of no treatment:

Excluding maintenance chiropractic care if applicable; after 6 months of no treatment you will be accounted for as a new patient due to requirement of thorough re-assessments and re-evaluations and the additional time that is required in the follow-up consultation. Assessments and evaluations and treatment of a new complaint during the course of follow-up consultations will you then be accounted for as a new patient if applicable due to new case history taking and relevant assessments and evaluations of the new complaint as well as the additional time that is required in the follow-up consultation.
